Boulder Community Transit Electrification and Shared Infrastructure

Leading Organization: City of Boulder, Colorado

Project Description:

The team’s objective is to develop a business model and operational plan for shared charging infrastructure to be utilized by transit buses, school buses, transportation network companies, and other city vehicles. The team’s broader goal is for the new shared charging infrastructure to enable transit fleet electrification, transit route expansion, and the development of multimodal and last-mile solutions. To help meet climate action plan goals, the team will explore the impact of on-site renewables and battery storage on accelerating emissions reductions, enhancing system resilience, and lowering operating costs.
