Revolutionary+ auto price vs. business-as-usual auto price, 2010–2050

By 2020, Revolutionary+ autos would be priced about $11,000 more than comparable business-as-usual autos—such a high price premium that they'd sell only into high-end niche markets. Revenue- and size-neutral feebates, however, could help cover the price premium of revolutionary vehicles in their first ten years of production. By the end of this period, production volumes would reach levels that would be large enough to drive a reduction in the price of Revolutionary+ vehicles that would be large enough to reduce buyers’ payback period below three years—a level that should no longer require feebates.
