
Rebecca Cole is the Director of Communications at RMI where she is responsible for leading the creation and execution of strategic, comprehensive and integrated marketing and communication plans / campaigns in support of RMI’s initiatives and development efforts. In her role, she is a key strategist in driving the Institute’s continued cultural shift toward external engagement, expanding the participation of diverse technical experts in market communications and engagement. In her previous role as RMI’s Sector Marketing Manger, Rebecca was responsible for market research in the buildings industry (primarily commercial), and developing expertise on industry drivers, trends and opportunities for engagement.
Background
Rebecca Cole has over a decade in marketing and communications management, providing strategic direction, public relations expertise, web information architecture, content and collateral creation and messaging strategy. Her specialty is translating technical concepts and communicating them simply and effectively through a variety of integrated channels—online through web content, blogs, videos and other social media avenues; through traditional PR campaigns and earned media; and through collateral, events and other direct marketing channels—to ensure that multiple audiences can connect and engage with the topic and with the organization. Prior to joining RMI, Rebecca was a journalist, covering energy, science and politics, while her early career skills were honed as a marketing expert in the high-tech and software industries.
