Richard Larson is the vice president of development at RMI and is responsible for philanthropic efforts to engage individual donors, foundations, and corporate donors in support of RMI’s mission and vision.
Background
Prior to joining RMI, Rich was with the University of Colorado Foundation for several years in a variety of capacities, including associate vice president on the downtown Denver campus. He facilitated several transformational gifts to benefit numerous programs throughout the University.
Previously, Rich had an extensive career with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources in institutional advancement and served as liaison between two governor appointed boards, the Colorado Wildlife Commission and the State Board of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund. In this capacity, Rich led the agency in securing more than $225 million in new funds for mission-critical programs such as declining species and habitat protection. Further, he played an integral role in the establishment of the Great Outdoors Colorado Trust Fund and Amendment 8 of the Colorado Constitution.
Rich was a founding partner in a private school, and founding director of the National Audubon Society’s Youth Ecology Program. As a leisurely pursuit, Rich has bicycled approximately 15,000 miles in 12 different countries.
