A multi-stakeholder effort led by the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition (KCFC) has launched an initiative to accelerate and prepare for the adoption of electric vehicles in Kentucky. This effort began with an October 2011 electric vehicle workshop held at Churchill Downs in Louisville. The workshop brought together industry leaders and electric vehicle stakeholders from Argonne National Laboratory, Ford Motor Company, GM, Tennessee Valley Authority, as well as other companies and organizations. An outcome of the workshop was the creation of the Electric Vehicle Leadership Team which includes utilities, local and state governments, schools, businesses, first responders, vehicle retailers, infrastructure manufacturers, and more. Team members include UPS, General Electric, Eaton, Bob Hook Chevrolet, the University of Louisville, Murray State University, Mercer Transportation, the cities of Louisville and Lexington, and others. This team leads KCFC's PLUG IN KENTUCKY initiative.
