Ryan is an Associate in the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), where he supports RMI's Cofounder and Chief Scientist, Amory B. Lovins, and the OCS team with research, analysis, and collaboration. He joined RMI in November 2016.
Previously, Ryan led the design, implementation, and evaluation of the world’s first university-based internal carbon pricing program at Yale University. His professional background is in environmental economics, climate policy, and energy efficiency and data analytics. As a student, Ryan studied glacial erosion in the Patagonian Andes and captained the varsity men’s cross country team.
