Titiaan is the special aide of Amory Lovins at the Rocky Mountain Institute. He holds degrees in civil engineering and renewable energy technologies from Delft University, ETH Zürich and MIT.
Titiaan has worked with Nest Labs to develop a thermostat for Germany; with FirstFuel in Boston to develop software to identify energy saving potential in buildings; and with Infosys in Bangalore to design rooftop and ground-mounted PV-systems to generate electricity for their offices around India.
As a student, Titiaan founded and grew the Dutch chapter of a worldwide network of student-entrepreneurs and he was a co-founder and chef (with three friends) of a small catering company. Titiaan later started a project to place solar panels on an elementary school financed by the local community, featured by TEDxAmsterdam.
Titiaan loves to bring people together and to facilitate team processes. He recently taught at MIT Medialab’s Design Initiative in Mumbai, India and was one of the founding team members of Spokes America, an annual bicycle tour across the United States to teach hands-on engineering classes to high school students.
